Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude detected near Pondaguitan, Philippines on Oct. 31

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Davao Region — Friday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Pondaguitan, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 21:21 UTC (05:21 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located about 120 km east-southeast of Pondaguitan.

Last week’s tremor

Over the last week, there has been another tremor of magnitude 4.7 centered nearby. Five days earlier, it too was registered close to Pondaguitan.
