Update: Earthquake rattles region near Panguna, Papua New Guinea on Oct. 28 – 5.0 magnitude recorded

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Panguna Tuesday evening.

The tremor hit at 09:13 UTC (19:13 local time), with its epicenter located roughly 82 km west-southwest of Panguna and a depth of 25 km.
