Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude detected near Bobon, Philippines on Oct. 19

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Bobon Sunday afternoon.

At 07:28 UTC (15:28 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 194 km, with its epicenter about 59 km southeast of Bobon.

Those who noticed the quake are encouraged to report it via the USGS Felt Report form. The agency has received 4 responses on its online form so far, from people saying they felt the tremor. According to the USGS DYFI report, weak shaking was recorded and several people in Buayan and the surrounding area reported feeling the earthquake.
