Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Oct. 18

Saturday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 17:57 UTC (04:57 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 208 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of just 6 km.
