ZONE 2 (KILBET RASU), Afar — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.6 magnitude quake hit close to Mek’ele Saturday evening.
The tremor struck the area at 16:18 UTC (19:18 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located approximately 55 km northeast of Mek’ele.
