Earthquake hits area close to Fais, Micronesia: 5.2 magnitude detected on Oct. 10

FAIS, Yap — A 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded close to Fais Friday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 11:48 UTC (20:48 local time), with its epicenter located about 239 km north-northeast of Fais and a depth of 10 km.

Over the last week, another magnitude 5.6 quake was reported in the region, also occurring close to Fais prior to this quake.
