The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Mid-Atlantic Ridge Friday morning.

The tremor struck the region at 04:17 UTC (01:17 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located north of Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
