According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Mucurapo Friday evening.

The tremor hit the area at 23:50 UTC (19:50 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 27 km west-southwest of Mucurapo.
