On Thursday at 3:03 p.m. the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality reported an air quality alert in effect until Friday at 6:15 p.m. The alert is for Wise, Denton, Collin, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Hood, Johnson, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis and Henderson counties.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has announced an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Friday, September 26, 2025. Atmospheric conditions are anticipated to support the creation of high ozone air pollution levels in the region on that day. Residents can contribute to reducing ozone pollution by carpooling, walking, biking, bringing lunch to work, avoiding drive-throughs, conserving energy, and ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, as advised by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
