Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 shakes area close to Pagar Alam, Indonesia on Aug. 30

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Pagar Alam Saturday evening.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 13:35 UTC (20:35 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 89 km south-southwest of Pagar Alam, at a depth of 65 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.0.
