Update: Sept. 25 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to Gizo, Solomon Islands

GIZO, Western Province — on Thursday around midday, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded close to Gizo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 03:54 UTC (13:54 local time), with its epicenter located about 287 km southwest of Gizo and a depth of 10 km.
