LAJES DAS FLORES, Azores — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Lajes das Flores Tuesday morning.

The tremor, which struck the area at 06:25 UTC (04:25 local time), was centered roughly 148 km south-southeast of Lajes das Flores. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.3 but later downgraded to 5.2.
