Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude detected close to Isangel, Vanuatu on Aug. 28

WEST TANNA, Tafea Province — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Isangel Thursday night.

At 11:40 UTC (22:40 local time), the region was struck by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 89 km, with its epicenter about 144 km south-southeast of Isangel.
