According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Tobelo at midnight on Sunday.

The tremor, which hit the area at 15:31 UTC (00:31 local time), was centered roughly 118 km west-northwest of Tobelo. It occurred at a depth of 34 km.
