Update: Aug. 2 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake detected close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake shook near Severo-Kuril’sk Saturday morning.

The tremor jolted at 21:11 UTC (08:11 local time), with its epicenter situated roughly 215 km east-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk and a depth of 10 km.
