According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday morning.

At 22:48 UTC (09:48 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 25 km, with its epicenter roughly 159 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
