A 5.6 magnitude quake was reported close to Severo-Kuril’sk Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the region at 07:34 UTC (17:34 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located approximately 202 km south of Severo-Kuril’sk.
