A 5.2 magnitude quake was registered close to the South Sandwich Islands Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 09:37 UTC (08:37 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located east of the South Sandwich Islands.
