According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Tuesday evening.

The tremor, which struck the area at 08:18 UTC (19:18 local time), was centered approximately 140 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
