Update: Earthquake measuring 5.7 hits area close to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on June 24

HIGÜEY, La Altagracia Province—Tuesday night, a 5.7 magnitude quake was detected near Punta Cana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 02:45 UTC (21:45 local time). The epicenter was located roughly 77 km north-northeast of Punta Cana, at a depth of 68 km.
