Update: 6.2 magnitude earthquake reported near Sand Point, AK on July 20

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK — Sunday afternoon, a 6.2 magnitude quake was recorded close to Sand Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 10:28 p.m. (2:28 p.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 25 miles with the epicenter situated approximately 57 miles south-southeast of Sand Point.
