Update: 6.1 magnitude earthquake reported near Sand Point, AK on July 20

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 6.1 magnitude quake hit close to Sand Point at midday on Sunday.

The tremor, which shook the area at 10:27 p.m. (11:27 a.m. local time), was centered about 74 miles south-southeast of Sand Point. It occurred at a depth of 34 miles.
