Update: Earthquake hits region near Lorengau, Papua New Guinea on July 8 – 5.2 magnitude reported

A 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Lorengau Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 17:11 UTC (03:11 local time), was centered approximately 109 km south-southeast of Lorengau. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
