According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Sunday afternoon.
A tremor struck the area at 07:02 UTC (18:02 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 147 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Earthquakes last week
Over the last week, four tremors of magnitude 6.1 or greater have been registered in the area, three of them larger than magnitude 7. The strongest, a 7.5 magnitude quake, rocked the same region prior to this quake.
