Update: Seismic activity on July 16 – 7.3 magnitude earthquake near Sand Point, AK recorded

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—A 7.3 magnitude quake was detected close to Sand Point Wednesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor devastated the region at 8:37 p.m. (9:37 a.m. local time). The epicenter was located roughly 54 miles south of Sand Point, at a depth of 12 miles.
