Update: Earthquake rattles region close to Tari, Papua New Guinea on July 15 – 5.0 magnitude reported

MIDDLE FLY DISTRICT, Western Province — Tuesday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Tari, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 21:16 UTC (07:16 local time), the area was hit by a tremor. The earthquake shook at a depth of 50 km, with its epicenter approximately 92 km west-southwest of Tari.
