ALMERÍA, AN — A 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near San José Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The tremor, which jolted the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time), was centered roughly 21 km southeast of San José. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

The agency has so far received 93 reports via its online form from people who indicate they felt the quake. According to the USGS DYFI report, moderate shaking was recorded and people in cities including San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora and Mojácar reported experiencing the tremor.
