6.6 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Burica, Panama on July 14

BARÚ DISTRICT, CHIRIQUÍ — A 6.6 magnitude quake was registered near Burica around midday Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor devastated the area at 17:16 UTC (11:16 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned approximately 214 km south of Burica and occurred at a depth of 18 km.
