6.6 magnitude earthquake strikes near Burica, Panama on July 14

BARÚ DISTRICT, CHIRIQUÍ — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 6.6 magnitude quake occurred close to Burica on Monday around midday.

The tremor hit at 17:16 UTC (11:16 local time), with its epicenter situated about 217 km south of Burica and a depth of 18 km.
