ALMERÍA, AN — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.2 magnitude quake shook close to San José Monday morning.

The tremor, which struck the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time), was centered approximately 21 km southeast of San José. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Those who noticed the earthquake are encouraged to report it via the USGS Felt Report form. So far, the agency has collected 90 online responses from individuals reporting that they felt the quake. Moderate shaking was registered, and residents in several cities—including San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora and Mojácar—reported feeling the tremor, according to the USGS DYFI report.
