Update: Earthquake shakes region close to San José, Spain on July 14 – 5.2 magnitude recorded

ALMERÍA, AN — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near San José Monday morning.

A tremor hit the area at 05:13 UTC (07:13 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated about 21 km southeast of San José and occurred at a depth of 10 km.

The USGS DYFI report indicates that moderate shaking was registered, with people in San Miguel de Salinas, El Ejido, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora and Mojácar among those who felt the earthquake.
