Update: Earthquake jolts region near Pinnacles, CA on July 12 – 3.5 magnitude detected

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — Saturday morning, a 3.5 magnitude quake was registered near Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 1:31 a.m., was centered roughly 4 miles east of Pinnacles. It occurred at a depth of 7 miles.

According to the USGS DYFI report, weak shaking was recorded and residents in several cities—including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad—reported feeling the tremor.
