Update: Earthquake measuring 3.5 jolts area close to Pinnacles, CA on July 12

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — Saturday morning, a 3.5 magnitude quake was recorded close to Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the region at 1:31 a.m. The epicenter was situated roughly 4 miles east of Pinnacles, at a depth of 7 miles.

Weak shaking was observed, and residents in several cities—including Carmel, Seaside and Soledad—reported experiencing the tremor, according to the USGS DYFI report.
