Update: Earthquake of 3.7 magnitude registered near Pinnacles, CA on July 12

SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — Saturday morning, a 3.7 magnitude quake was detected near Pinnacles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 1:31 a.m., was centered roughly 3 miles east of Pinnacles. It occurred at a depth of 7 miles.

The USGS DYFI report indicates that people in cities such as Carmel, Seaside and Soledad felt weak shaking during the tremor.
