SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — A 3.7 magnitude quake was detected close to Pinnacles Saturday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 1:31 a.m. The epicenter was situated approximately 3 miles east of Pinnacles, at a depth of 7 miles.

Those who felt the earthquake are encouraged to report it through the USGS Felt Report form. So far, the agency has collected 12 online responses from individuals reporting that they experienced the quake. The USGS DYFI report indicates that people in cities such as Carmel, Seaside and Soledad felt weak shaking during the tremor.

Last week’s quake
Over the last week, there was one quake of magnitude 2.5 centered in the region, which was recorded near Pinnacles seven days earlier.
