Update: 3.0 magnitude earthquake shakes close to Indio, CA on July 10

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A 3.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Indio Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor rattled the area at 5:17 p.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned approximately 9 miles east-northeast of Indio and occurred at a depth of just 1 mile.
