Update: 6.3 magnitude earthquake slams southeast of the Loyalty Islands on July 13

LIFOU, Loyalty Islands Province — A 6.3 magnitude quake occurred southeast of the Loyalty Islands on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 14:45 UTC (01:45 local time), a tremor hit the region at a depth of 16 km, with its epicenter southeast of the Loyalty Islands of southeast of the Loyalty Islands. Seismologists first reported it as a 6.7 event, but later downgraded it to 6.3.
