Update: 5.5 magnitude earthquake detected close to Indian-Antarctic Ridge on Aug. 3

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.5 magnitude quake shook near Indian-Antarctic Ridge Sunday night.

The tremor, which struck the area at 15:48 UTC (23:48 local time), was centered west of Indian-Antarctic Ridge. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
