Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude detected near Mid-Indian Ridge on Nov. 18

Tuesday evening, a 5.3 magnitude quake was registered close to Mid-Indian Ridge, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 15:35 UTC (19:35 local time), was centered of Mid-Indian Ridge. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.3.
