Update: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude recorded close to Pagan region, Northern Mariana Islands on March 3

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Pagan region around midnight Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 14:38 UTC (00:38 local time). The epicenter was of Pagan region, at a depth of 199 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.3 but later downgraded to 5.0.
