Update: Earthquake hits region near Izu Islands, Japan region on Sept. 2 – 5.3 magnitude recorded

At midday on Tuesday, a 5.3 magnitude quake was reported close to Izu Islands, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the area at 03:32 UTC (12:32 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located of Izu Islands and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
