Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes close to Sungai Penuh, Indonesia on Oct. 3

Friday afternoon, a 5.1 magnitude quake was reported close to Sungai Penuh, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 11:03 UTC (18:03 local time), with its epicenter located about 114 km south of Sungai Penuh and a depth of 62 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.2 event, but later downgraded it to 5.1.
