5.2 magnitude earthquake detected southeast of Easter Island on Feb. 3

EASTER ISLAND, Valparaíso — Tuesday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was reported southeast of Easter Island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 22:39 UTC (16:39 local time), the region was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter southeast of Easter Island of southeast of Easter Island.
