5.2 magnitude earthquake detected close to Sand Point, AK on July 16

ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—on Wednesday around midday, a 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded near Sand Point, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook at 10:10 p.m. (11:10 a.m. local time), with its epicenter situated about 66 miles south-southeast of Sand Point and a depth of 14 miles.
