Update: Seismic activity on June 9 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake near Sarangani, Philippines reported

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Sarangani on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 17:40 UTC (01:40 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 61 km south-southwest of Sarangani and occurred at a depth of 54 km.

Nine earthquakes with a magnitude 5.5 or higher have been registered in the region during the past week. The largest one was a 7.8 earthquake that was detected close to Kablalan on Jun. 8.
