Update: 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes close to Sola, Vanuatu on Jan. 10

A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded near Sola at midday on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted the area at 00:44 UTC (11:44 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter situated about 90 km west of Sola.
