A 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Sarangani at midday on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 04:22 UTC (12:22 local time). The epicenter was located about 41 km southwest of Sarangani, at a depth of 10 km.
