ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands Saturday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the area at 7:10 a.m. (9:10 p.m. local time). The epicenter was situated of Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands, at a depth of 72 miles. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.
