5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 30

A 5.1 magnitude quake was registered near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky around midday Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which shook the area at 00:50 UTC (11:50 local time), was centered roughly 222 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
