A 5.1 magnitude quake struck close to South Sandwich Islands region on Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 03:55 UTC (01:55 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 136 km, with its epicenter of South Sandwich Islands region.
